Southern Family Literacy Night

On March 5th South Elementary School hosted a Family Literacy Night. The Southern Family literally rolled out the red carpet for this event. They provided family reading activities, student author showcases, story sharing, literacy games and stations, and children were able to take home reading and writing ideas. We were thrilled to be invited to attend at the event. We provided informational pamphlets about Scott County Parks and Recreation, Georgetown Scott County Friends of the Parks, and a flyer about our upcoming Scott County Park Cleanup event on 3/28.

We want to give a special shout out to Sidney Anderson. She's a frequent Georgetown Scott County Friends of the Parks volunteer! She's invited us back to Southern Elementary this fall!
